now...the fun side of UT....

The girls LOVED visiting with their Uncle Tim (Timmy) and Aunt Julia ( Joo - Joo ). Mikenna especially LOVED LOVED LOVED the mao mao ( Stimpy the cat). We got to hang out at the park, go swimming, miniature golf, ride scooters, ate lots of food, and just relax together. We also hung out with Kathryn (Mike's sister) and her family. The girls had fun playing with their cousins and wish they could see them more. Justin & Alicia (my cousins) came over Sunday evening to play with the girls. Once Kaylee knew they were in town attending BYU , she kept wanting to call and find out when they were coming over. I'm really impressed with my cousins. They took the time to play and chat with my girls, something I don't think I did when they were younger. In fact, I made this connection...(ahem) 17 years ago, when I was at BYU ...my Aunt Audrey came to visit, bringing along Justin (6) Ada (5) & Alisha (2)...at that time I was just 18...so now you have my kids, same ages as t

Jeesh!! (the medical side of it...)

Seems like I was just on here posting gobs of updates...and here I am 11 days or so later...not that I have much to say. We've been in Utah for the past few days. Up until then, I don't think much was going on. Kaylee had an awful flare-up of spots on her left foot. She had several painful blood blisters on her toes, as well as the bottom of her foot. Other than that-spots come and go, no stomach pain to really report, and a few days of joint pain. We had Kaylee tested at LifeClinic with Kherna , who has been doing EDS testing for over 10 years now. EDS is basically, an alternative heath method combining acupuncture points, a computer, meridian points, homeopathics , and supplements--working together to balance your body...so yes, obviously Kaylee's body is WAY STRESSED...so hopefully with the different supplements and homeopathics , we can get her body to do what it needs to, or at least as healthy as we can so her body can heal! I've been there myself over the past f

Biking!!

Image
Mike took Kassi's training wheels off...and off she went!! We had a feeling it wouldn't be too difficult...something about the bike having a low center...blah blah blah...Mike said that "teaching" Kassi to ride w/o training wheels has been the least amount of back breaking so far!!" O-and here are a few pics of Mikenna just figuring out how to pedal on her own...steering comes later :)

Canning again!!

Image
Yes, it's that time of year again (and actually about a year that I've been doing this blogging thing--in fact I have a post from a year ago about the same thing!!) my parents asian pear tree and peach tree decided to ripen simultaneously and we are effeciently canning away!! Actually we're done now...just two evenings...one for peaches and one for asian pears...42 quarts each night...(well 2 peach jars broke tho). With my parents helping plus two canners, it went rather quickly...just 3-4 hours each evening!! So, here are some pics!! Mikenna hanging onto my leg, bedtime for her!! Mike and Kassi cutting the pears with an apple cutter... The crew hard at work...Uncle and Mom had already peeled the pears that Michael is cutting up...and here they are stuffing the jars...Mom actually was counting how many slices went into each jar and figured out approximately how many pears...which I think the count was 4-5 pears... Then you have dad...he was a great crew "master"..

First day of Preschool!!

Image
Yes, Kassidy is TOTALLY excited to FINALLY begin preschool...We have a fun group this year and I am looking forward to what they'll learn!! Many of them will be starting K next year, maybe they'll also be in the same class!! Mikenna also joins us and loves to color and sing and dance around. She knows how to hold her spot on the floor (just sits on Kassi if she gets in the way) and knows just when to clap as we sing. Sometimes I think, "maybe I should teach the entire year and charge for preschool" because I know it would be so much fun to watch them learn and grow through the year...but then...

are you tired of all my updating yet??? almost done!

Ohanapecosh, Mt. Rainier

Image
Despite Kaylee's illness, we were still able to make it to our annual camp out at Mt. Rainier. (We had grand plans to do all sorts of camping this summer.) I let everyone else take most of the pics...so if we're lucky I'll get copies. (I'll snatch some for now from Allison's blog.) Last November there was a huge rainstorm (18" in 36 hours) that melted snow already on the ground which caused major flooding & damage. i.e. 1. it washed out a huge section of the road that Uncle Ted & Aunt Audry were to drive in on...so they had to take a 2 hour detour in order to join us. 2. We tried to go crawdad fishing, but the road up to the trail head was washed out. 3. visited the Blue Hole, which is no longer there...it's more like the Blue pond that everyone enjoyed swimming in. We still managed to enjoy ourselves. Like I mentioned above, all of the kids and some of the grown-ups, enjoyed swimming around in the Blue Pond. We watched some "crazies" jum

A visit from Julia & Tim!!

Image
We had a fun visit from my sister and hubby the last week of August. It was fun to sit around, chat, eat, play games, swim, etc. They taught us a new game called Cash Flow...Mostly the girls enjoyed having someone else around to entertain them. Here's a few pics my sis took ...you'll have to go to her blog to see them. She also sat and drew for the girls and showed Kaylee some different ways of drawing and creating paper dolls! Kaylee loved having "art lessons" and of course they played a lot of Blokus together. Thanks for coming to visit!!
