Buble...

Have any of you heard of him? Michael Buble (Boo-blay)...At the recital, "The Little Mermaid" they had this song for one of the numbers..."Feeling Good" (I found the video on you-tube) Then when I was surfing his site I came across this song (another you-tube find) "Everything" which to say, I haven't really watched the videos, just listened to the songs, we've since downloaded his various albums and have other favorites (i.e. "Save the Last Dance")...and the girls and I love them!! They want me to put up the lyrics and they sing along. So if you have time, check the songs out... Oh, and BTW--I think Tim looks a bit like him too...what do you think Ju-mui?

HB KASSI part ii

Happy 4th Bday Kassidy!!

Image
Wow!! Four years!! Crazy how quickly they have passed... Some fun things about our Kassi~ **Kassi loves to tinker on the piano, dance & dance, look at books, read her poem book, color, sing, play, watch TV: namely Dora or Backyardigans, play on the computer, do her homework... **She was very sad that Preschool is on a summer break~and learned this past year: all of her letters (working on the sounds) and numbers to 10 (can count to 30 or so), to write her name as well as her siblings names & Mom and Dad...quickly answers "Shore" (sure) when I ask her to help out, and... **Her good friends are Audrey, Dakota, Savannah, Grace & Cadence...as well as her sisters (although she loves to pick fights with Kaylee) and cousin Emma!! **Her favorite question is, "What do I have today?" (which she asks as I tuck her into bed, so she means tomorrow :) Last night, for Kassi's birthday dinner, we had breakfast...crepes with fruit and whipped topping & bacon ...

Flip flops...

Image
Here's a project Kaylee enjoyed...we've been on the hunt for inexpensive but cute flip flops and finally found some at JoAnn's. (Total cost: $1.50) Aunt Julia called in the middle of our crafting and asked Kaylee to send a pic...so here's a post instead! They're very cute!!
Mikenna has been joining in on all sorts of songs these past few weeks. Finally caught this one on video...FYI Kiera is playing the piano in the background.

New Jammies...

Image
A few years ago, Grandma Chan (my mom) made some jammies for the girls (K1 & K2) that they have LOVED. So, we went shopping earlier this week~the girls picked out fabric and today, Grandma got to sewing. Kiera even said to her, on the way out the door for their bike ride, "Grandma, now you can have some quiet time and get a lot of sewing done!!" Not that the jammies take a lot of time or anything...she was able to put these together in less than a 1/2 hour!! We think they are better suited for the colder months, but the girls love them!

a boring afternoon...

Image
Kaylee favorite phrase so far this summer, "what's something fun to do?" So, on this particular afternoon Kaylee pulled out the dance pad and they all had fun...at least for an hour or so :S

AAAAHHH!!!

It has been an...interesting weekend...with frustrations making me want to pull my hair out!!! Here is an example...I thought it would be fun for me and the girls to redo their nails in prep for our trip to Idaho this week... Mikenna could not sit still, I had to redo her big toe THREE TIMES and she still has an ugly toe. She kept echoing me...me, "You're going to have an ugly toe if you don't sit still" Mikenna, "ugee toe"...me, "AHH!! Mikenna!!" Mikenna, "ugee toe" Ok...so it's my fault, who would expect an almost 2 year old to sit still...UUGGG!! Then, I tried putting stones on the girls toes--someone suggested super glue. (I've never had stones put on, nor seen it done, and didn't take the time to research the process online.) So, I managed to super-glue my fingers together several times, super-glue the stone to my finger, lose said stone somewhere, and finally was able to adhere the STONE to a toe!! So, needless to say, I...

Little Mikenna...

ENJOY!!

Hide, hide, hide...

Image
Many of you know the phenomenon all little kiddos experience where, if they can't see you, you obviously can't see them. We have been enjoying playing hide & seek with Mikenna. This was her hiding place today!

The Little Mermaid

Image
We went up to Seattle for a quick trip to see my cousins dance in their ballet, The Little Mermaid. They all had solo parts~Elsie: Ariel, Alisha: mermaid sister-Arista?, Brenda: dancing shrimp, Linsie: ???...and they also danced in numerous other numbers and did a WONDERFUL job!! My cousins are very talented dancers!! We really enjoy attending their ballets and look forward to it every year! Thanks for having us come!!

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini...

Image
For weeks now, Kassi has been singing this little song. I think it has become one of her favorites. She said the reason she didn't go on for the "poppy" song was because she wanted to do the Polka-dot bikini song. Anyhow, she ran onto the stage for this number and was very cute!! Thanks to everyone who came to watch and support our cute little Kassidy!!

The Poppies...

Image
For their ballet this year, Kassi was a poppy...The Wizard of Oz...there were 3 other girls in her class (Kassi was still the smallest...or perhaps I should say petite) that didn't dance in the ballet...so, here are this year's poppies!! When it was the poppies turn to go on stage, the "runner" was no where to be found (person who was to bring us to the stage a few numbers before we were to go on) so, by the time someone came to get us, we barely made our cue. Thus, the other two girls ran on stage and Kassi, "NO! NO! NO! I don't want to DO IT!!" The scarecrow had to come and carry her on...

Just like mom...

Image
Mikenna usually watches an Elmo show before her bedtime in my bedroom...while we wait for her sisters to fall asleep ...sometimes she'll fall asleep...this is what we found last night...like mother like daughter :D

Schools out!!

Image
Summer has begun! The girls have really had a fun year!! They have had great teachers and learned so many things!! Now begins the task of keeping their summer "boring free"... wish us luck!!

Pretty toes...

Image
We spent the afternoon today getting pedicures!! Well, at least the girls did. They had fun and so did I...in between me getting after them to keep their toes still... The joys of having four girls :D

Horsey or Doggy???

Image
Perhaps we have been face painting too much these past few weeks. (Which to say has been 2 times.) Kassi decided to try out her artistic skills on Mikenna and another friend's cheek one afternoon. If you look closely you should be able to see faint blue markings on Mikenna's cheek (She had just had her faced washed from eating a messy chocolate.)

Future si fuh's in the making...

Image
A few weeks ago, Michael taught Kiera and Kaylee how to play mahjong. They have since caught on and it has now become a favorite Sunday afternoon family game!! (You can see that he is napping in the background, it can be exhausting at times.) After several games, the girls then like to build towers as you can see in this lovely picture :P
